The weather forecast for us a difficult day, but during the morning of Saturday the sun shines, temperatures and try to remember that somewhere above the clouds is spring. So, me and Umby, survivors of the decimated group participations from various weddings, birthday parties and various ailments, we decide to scale the summit of Monte San Giorgio di Piossasco, with the intention to go down the path of San Vito, or go to of both Pompiere departing from the summit to be descended from two opposite sides. For the occasion, given the difficulty of the trail and the slow travel, I decided to use the Anvil and equip it so you can tackle a downhill freeride: removed dirt from the wheels, I note with pleasure that the old are Deemax yet their effect on the frame, mount a new version of DHEA to 2.3 in the front compound 3C, Neuron and a 2.3 on the rear, both tubeless. Unloaded the bike from your shoulder and loaded into a small backpack, but the weight of a basket for firewood, we are moving towards the access to the mountain park. From there to just begins to drip and hail not late to join the other half of the climb. Then the real storm is raging with lots of wind, lightning and thunder! Arrived at the top of a thought of thanks goes to the Alpini who had the good sense to build a shelter in the mountain peak. Waiting for the intensity of rainfall decreases a little, we equip the protections for the descent, and for once take the heat that is welcome. After about ten minutes we decide to go down the path of Pompiere less technically challenging, given the conditions of its optimal adhesion. It is still in the rain, but after a few minutes the storm falls of intensity and allows us to enjoy a drop of stone, mud and wet roots really funny! It does heat up a bit, his arms stiff and begin to react and dissolve. The first part allows us to drive relaxed, and familiarize yourself with the low grip. This new compound, behaves far good in these conditions, and let slide a little more, making fluid movements. Umby has never addressed this down, but the first stop is happy and appreciates the technical difficulties. After a few scivoltata and many stunts to keep us in the saddle, come halfway. Here the mud is beginning to become more frequent, and the trail closer! The Anvil behaves so excellent: responsive, but docile, allows me to spend a couple of logs across the path, without bark ... Have the same grip of the ice! As we arrive at the bottom of the trail, torrents of water invading the track, and seems to ride the waves! Once at the end of the descent so we gasati be traced up to half of the trail and rifarlo! Not just yet, at the back towards the chapel of St. Valerian, and enjoy the last piece of trail that leads us to the village of Piossasco, crossing the old quarry franante. Wet to the bone, we wandered to St. George nearly 5 hours! But the fun we read in our smiles dirty mud!
